Kratos as a character is our favorite, his intensity is supreme and the attitude he walked with in the first three parts was astoundingly ‘gody’. God of War yet again, with a new beginning marks a perfect example of craziness. To start with already in turmoil Kratos is embarked by entrance of a strange looking stranger (who knew in the first fifteen minutes that they will be in for a boss fight). It isn’t an ordinary boss fight it out beats all the fight sequences that we have played till date. It’s intense! Both characters are shown ramming each other where the newly embedded single shot camera gives it a pumping aura it makes us feel into the game, beating the heat out of your accomplice.
This game brings two characters throughout the span of the game. The boy named Atreus is a new inclusion to make things more interesting. God of War has evolved over time and it demands more involvement and passion. This boy is annoyingly cheesy, and he has a lot to talk but handy at the same time. He is in coalition in every fight sequence which is a plus point, and basically game is designed in a way that he has to be included at every point. He is impulsive and careless who needs to be trained and rationalized. Atreus is carrying a bow and an arrow, and he assists Kratos’ against distant enemies. As we progress in the game the bow gets upgraded with multiple magical abilities. It can be used to open entrance doors or creating a virtual path from where crossing is not possible.

Kratos is an anguished soul, whose simple god life is impaled by a torment of broken relations and feelings. Out of all the things, he has to enter a new Norse methodology and to take the fish out of water, things aren’t exactly friendly in this arena as well. A mortal turned god has already taken and given a life before a tragedy hits again.
The game starts with an expedition. This expedition is not for the weak and not for the “unready”. It brings challenges, riddles and puzzles with a blend of certain enemies. Every step opens up a new challenge and every challenge graver than the former. What’s new in this outing for God of War is a whole new set with categories of enemies with unique fighting style and strengths, if you are not forming a strategy then you’re doomed in seconds. This game is mature and its battle sequences are more realistic with graphics being stupendous. Our personnel favorite, newly introduced “Runic” attacks which are upgraded over the time are lethal.

The developers have done a splendid job and the weapons are very well thought of especially the Thor’s hammer effect on Kratos’ axe. They are more intense and the coordination among the characters is awesomely dealt with. Inclusion of merchants is beautifully orchestrated because the merchants are talkative and insanely talented. They, as a whole, bring a lighter note to an intense storyline. They tell us the exact upgrade we need to fulfill the upcoming challenges. This is rather good as it creates an illusion to the player that this upgrade is going to upheaval the foes.
God of War has a tradition of introducing new characters in the game throughout to keep the gamers engaged and the story interesting. Magic is strongly embedded into the story and Kratos is not enough to end the streaks on his own. Additional characters are there to help Kratos with their abilities at every point throughout the game. They have in-depth knowledge of all the realms, and information about many unknown locations and paths which can help in traveling between realms.
This game is based on a semi open world map where there are other extra challenges and quests to prolong the gameplay. We are going to explore 9 realms. Every realm is unique and projects different challenges. We have to travel realm to realm to exploit the resources and get the objectives done. Chambers are new in this game and they portray a dome of experimentations, but the environment is of Norse methodology of course. Creativity should be awarded full points as they have made sure that user is spellbound by their new “baby”. “To thrive to excellence is the way to go.” You have to capture every moment in God of War. The game compels us to collect the artifacts and collectables all the way. It is designed in a way that we need to make an extra effort to get our rewards. What the creators have done well is challenging the player’s capabilities, the more we progress the more challenging puzzles we face to get rewards. “It’s like a desperate employee, burning midnights oil to get what he deserves.” – Mocks!
Mortals, immortals, methodologies and spur of the past have not been seen in any game other than this franchise. It brings concepts and methodologies together as they are bundled into wrath and egos, moods and stances, blessings and demise, whatever said is not enough. It is a new gospel, God of War’s gospel that works on its own rules and logics which is not easy to understand.
God of War, its fun, its nasty, its creative, its mind boggling. This franchise is for the fanatics and for the hardcore fans. From the start of game, we see the highs, we see the lows, and we struggle of one tough journey. The single shot camera is one aspect that can’t be missed. Over the shoulder cam is something to be witnessed. The game’s script is full of inevitable surprises and have introduced a new dimension to the story. At the end, we are left thinking what’s next, Damn! And we are sure all the fans in the world will be in the same goose bumping predicament as we were when the game reached its end.

Except all the drama and fun, there are few things which might create disturbance. Game does have a few glitches where the graphics wear out when Kratos is inside the travel room. Occasionally the character would get stuck while running into walls and wouldn’t budge unless camera angle was not rotated. At certain parts of the game we got distracted by voice overs of characters on the other hand Kratos was totally silent.
To give it a final touch, even with the above mentioned minor glitches, the sheer brilliance of the game can not be ignored. It’s a mystery unfolding contest that undergoes a theatre of chaos and emotions together, we hardly see it modern games.
