If you have ever been a superhero fan, you ought to know one of the most addictive animated TV Series from 2003 that grabbed attention of many children and teenagers alike, Teen Titans. It’s rights are owned by DC comics which has been famous for its unrivaled dominance in comic world until the birth of Marvel Studios. Humor and light theme compared to rest of DC Universe played a pivotal role in its popularity. Although Teen Titans GO! is also funny but well it is only funny.
DC has suffered a massive blow to its entertainment unit in recent years since the rise of Marvel Studios but let’s face it, they have been getting away with their not-so-good movies for some time now except the Batman Trilogy. With few recent trailers like Aquaman, Shazam and Titans, it seems that DC has made some serious effort to come back strong.
Titans’ trailer gave the impression that DC is back with its Dark theme and they’ve lost the word Teen.
Titans’ trailer gave the impression that DC is back with its Dark theme and they’ve lost the word Teen. This could be a reason that we couldn’t see even a hint of humor during the trailer. Fans have made their voice heard about the lack of comedy compared to the animated series back in 2003 but comic lovers have come to its defense that the cartoons were exaggerated and Teen Titans has always been dark. It was only light compared to rest of the DC characters.
We see that Robin and Starfire has grown up whereas Raven and Beast boy seem to be in their teenage. Cyborg is missing which is a concern for many fans. Overall the trailer looked pretty decent which could lead us to believe that DC is actually interested in making their TV content better. On the other hand Robin’s rebellious attitude where he openly curses batman was frowned upon by a lot of viewers and was pretty shocking. Blunders like that makes us think that DC cannot go for long without screwing up at least something. We are waiting for the series to come out before giving our verdict but this could either be DC’s new beginning or another nail in the coffin.
